Additive Design and Manufacturing Engineer

FIT AG Additive Manufacturing Group is a leading manufacturer of highly technical industrial components and medical implants using additive design and manufacturing (ADM) techniques. Founded in 1995 and based in Lupburg, Germany, FIT AG currently has more than 325 employees in Europe, the US, and Japan and is growing rapidly. Based largely on proprietary technology, FIT operates one of the world’s largest additive manufacturing factories for aluminum, titanium, polyamide and steel. FIT AG and Caterpillar Inc. recently announced a strategic alliance to accelerate Caterpillar’s understanding and adoption of ADM. The candidate selected will be a FIT employee dedicated to supporting this important mission.

Position: Additive Design and Manufacturing Engineer
Relocation: Strong preference is for a Peoria-area candidate.

Description: An Additive Manufacturing and Design Engineer will begin to shift from learning and assisting to fully contributing to solving technical problems while growing her analytical skills and mastery of engineering concepts, specifically in additive design and manufacturing.The selected candidate will collaborate closely among the FIT AG team, Caterpillar business units, and supplier partners to expand the technical knowledge and accelerate application of ADM, as well as share best practices. The selected candidate will have opportunities for continuous learning and will be expected to stay abreast of innovative ADM technology and applications. There will be ample opportunities for professional networking.

The selected candidate will be based in Peoria, Illinois and must be willing to travel internationally. She will be posted for a minimum of six months with the FIT AG team in Germany for in-depth training in ADM techniques and technology, and there may be need for occasional follow-up visits. The candidate may also be required to travel to globally where ADM opportunities exist.
